HIV Haven relaunched in January of 2011 and added Hepatitis C to our mission in October of 2011. One of the main aspects of HIV Haven that differentiates us from other site is our focus on bringing our readers all the relevant HIV and Hepatitis C news articles we can gather from around the world.
During the course of the past year, our process of deciding which news articles to post and which to ignore has been a learning process and a progression of our thoughts and understand of this responsibility.
The sum of our practice makes perfect education on assembling our daily news sections amounts to the following: We do not post articles that we feel promote stigma against people with HIV; We do post articles that depict the ignorance, misinformation and corruption of others in order to make people aware of these actions in hopes of 1. protecting themselves and others and 2. initiating or supporting action against said misinformation, unethical actions and corruption.
In RNA stories, a weekly post, we will review the week’s news stories and take the opportunity to share with you our opinions and thoughts on those stories we feel require further input, interpretation or explanation.
